Viewpoint Review

The Viewpoint eDiscovery platform delivers a flexible approach to legal and compliance document review with sophisticated analysis designed to help manage litigation, investigations, and compliance matters beginning to end. Viewpoint is our most used, yet most outdated product. I have been tasked with the redesign of the UI, along with correcting the inconsistent UX for a streamlined workflow.

Problems to be Solved

  • Outdated user interface design.

  • Design does not comply with branding guidelines.

  • Disorganized menu items, tools, and navigation.

  • Failure to pass WCAG / ADA testing.

  • Inconsistencies within the product.

  • Poor organization and a confusing workflow.

Product Goals

  • Streamline the user experience and simplify the workflow.

  • Update and declutter interface.

  • Improve user accessibility.

Actions Taken

  • Audits completed to target design inconsistencies and accessibility problems.

  • Process flows created to target workflow issues.

  • Site map and action menus organized and cleaned up.

  • Common action items determined and given visual hierarchy.

  • Wireframes and prototypes presented to POs, stakeholders, and lead developers, updating with valid feedback.

  • Component library modernized while working with tech stack.

  • Documentation for epics provided to assist developers.

  • Audit of finalized production to ensure accuracy. 

Results Achieved

  • A cleaner, more user-friendly interface.

  • An improved workflow that eliminates confusion and enforces recognition for frequent user actions.
